Checking in documents
Checking in a document uploads a copy of the document from your computer and unlocks the document. If the source vault is Meridian Enterprise, the document is released immediately so that it may be checked out again. If the source vault ImandrA, the document must first be released with the Release command as described in Releasing documents.
To check in a document:
- Open the SharePoint library that contains the document that you want to check in.
- Point to the name of the document that you want to check in until the down arrow
appears, click the down arrow, and select Check In. The Meridian Vault: <DocumentName> page appears.
- Click Browse. The Choose File to Upload dialog box appears.
- Browse to and select the file that you want to import. By default, documents you check out from the SharePoint library are downloaded to your My Documents folder.
- Click Open. The path and name of the file appears in the Document for Check In text box.
- Click Upload File. A list of the available document classes appears along with the properties of the selected class.
- If you want to assign a different class to the document, select it from Document Class.
- Update any property values, if necessary, and click Check In. The file is uploaded, the Status property of the document changes to Released , and the icon in the Status column disappears. The library contents page reappears.
